Kakamega leaders want Oparanya to deputise Ruto in 2027
Leaders from Kakamega county want Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya to deputise President William Ruto in 2027 election.
Led by Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka, Bishop Titus Khamala (Lurambi), Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), Fred Ikana (Shinyalu) and Elsie Muhanda (Kakamega Women Rep) said Oparanya has contributed to unifying the region and has an impressive performance track record
They expressed gratitude to the government for removing the Ksh300 fee that was previously required for first-time ID card holders.
They urged the youth to take advantage of this opportunity and register in large numbers ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Aseka asked “CS Oparanya should go for national political seat like deputising president Ruto in2027.
Central, North Eastern, Coast among other regions have groomed their person for national seat. We want the running mate of president William Ruto to come from mulembe nation. We are tired of being taken left and right politically. We need to have unity of purpose politically and that can be achieved through Oparanya,” Aseka noted.
According to Shinali, Kakamega is majority in population and they will not allow their numbers to be miused.
“They say we don’t registers for voting but now ID cards are free and we call on all citizens to get identity cards. We must sure we use our numbers properly and get respect,” Shinali noted.
Khamala said Oparanya work track record makes him fit for national politics. He was the former Planning minister, who also served as Butere MP for 10 years and governor for two terms and had gained invaluable experience when he served as minister during President Kibaki’s administration, planning minister makes him fit for top seat.
“Oparanya is currently CS courtesy of getting through the window. We must put our act and numbers together and negotiate properly for 2027. We must not continue being cluesless, networklace.
Oparanya must negotiate and engage top leadership and ensure we get the 2027 government,” Khamala noted.
The Cooperative, CS while disbursing Uwezo funds said he was already out pf county politics and currently the at national level.
