Finally: Abashuu declare their Malava MP candidate

In what could be the sub clan game changer, for over a decade, the vast Abashu clan has found solace and comfort in one of their sons of the soil.

Nelson Shilunji Taliti is no new name to the lips and minds of the Abashu clan and even the entire Malava constituency, and his journey to embark on his political warpath to salvage the residents of Malava from their political bondage following the demise of their MP Malulu Injendi has had many hurdles as the political murky waters has been infested with over 30 aspirants all battling out to become the next MP, not forgetting that is own home turf has attracted over five aspirants already with the numbers still growing.

And it is on this thin line that the clan has decided to back one serious candidate to face off other opponents drawn from other clans.

Whether the constituency which has already been divided into two (East and West Kabras) constituencies due to their population

 While acknowledging his endorsement as the next Malava aspiring legislature, in the coming by election set to be held around September 2025 following the constituting of the independent electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC), Shilunji who has been rated as among the front runners with the political muscles to take over the constituency political mantle, said his endorsement was a clear indication that his clansmen had a lot of confidence and were willing to stand by him as he sought to serve them diligently.

Shilunji who has vowed to ensure that the leadership which has been elusive to the clan for the last 30 years said it was time for him to return the leadership baton back to the Abashu for them to also have that leadership feel after a very long time of it being evasive following unhealthy competition among themselves alongside political witch hunt that led to them losing to their outside opponents for many years.

The community leaders’ office confirmed that it was time to wake up from their political slumber, put away their selfish interests and aim to offer service delivery to the voters.

They have advised the three contestants to swallow their pride and support Shilunji deliver the seat back home.

The office called on the three contestants to honor their decision as Shilunji was the first contender from the community to declare his candidature.

They however asked him to step outside his community and seek fresh allies from the other parts of the constituency.
