Eugene Wamalwa leads Mukhisa, Kalonzo, Karua in uniting ex-bitter enemies Matiang’i and Gachagua

The Kenyan Opposition group led by Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has united former bitter political enemies – ex-Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and ex-Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred matiang’i.

On Tuesday, April 29, the Opposition league of Kalonzo, Eugene Wamalwa (DAP-K), Martha Karua (NLP), Torome Saitoti (Jubilee) met with Gachagua, ex Kenya Kwanza CSs Mithika Linturi and Justine Muturi and Matiang’i.

In the last lap of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reign, Matiang’I was the Interior CS who was a thorn in the flesh of Gachagua and allies of then Deputy President William Ruto.

The Ruto team, led by Gachagua, had no kind words for Matiang’I and at one time, the ex-DP threatened unknown consequences against the then no-nonsense CS.

When in power, Gachagua and his Kenya Kwanza government spared no time in teaching Matiang’i a lesson as heavily armed police officers raided his home.

Since then, Matiang’I has been speaking through proxies and while outside the country.

But today, the former ‘sworn’ enemies emerged as a united team to condemn atrocities against Kenyans allegedly being perpetrated by the Kenya Kwanza government.

In a joint statement, the leaders slammed president Ruto and his administration for grabbing private and community land that has in most times, turned chaotic and led to loss of lives.

They team also condemned Ruto’s government over the GenZ June 2024 killings and wave of abductions that followed.

They claimed there is a special killer-squad that is charged with terrorizing Kenyans who raise their forces against the government and warned that this trend should stop.

“We strongly warn the Ruto regime on further bloodshed and any political assassinations,” they said in the joint address.
