Celebrations rocks Lugari as Lunyito students rejoice sports victory

There was celebrations and jubilations in Lugari subcounty following remarkable performance in sports by students of Lunyito Secondary School after two of its students emerged victorious in the just concluded regional competitions held in Busia County.

The duo won both categories of boys and girls Discus Throw competition.

Jaigon Kipkemboi and Sherlyne Cheptoo will now be heading to Mombasa for the national competition that is to be held in April this year after the win that has put the school on the National map.

The schools new principal Patrick Sakwa has now set his eyes on academic success.

The school games’ teacher Atinga Norah expressed confidence in the new management, which she said had created a conducive environment that saw two boys of the four from the subcounty who will proceed to national competition come from the school while adding that nothing will stop them from also topping in academics if the programs put in place by the management is anything.

Atingo affirmed that the two students would come back from the coastal city as winners.

Meanwhile, Mr Sakwa has promised to invest much in co-curricular activities, saying that most sports people are successful.
