Good news for Malava residents seeking bursary

Parents and students from Malava constituency have been assured that they will soon receive their bursary allocations.
The reassurance comes in the wake of speculations that there was no bursary since the area MP Moses Malulu Injendi passed one recently, sparking fears among learners and parents who depend on the kitty.
Speaking to the Media after resuming office, the Malava National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) manager, Humphrey Sechero has assured the parents and learners that all was well and the office will soon start to disburse cheques.
“I know there is a lot of speculations and anxiety following the demise of the MP but note that the CDF office of which the MP is the patron, is independent and has its structures on how it operates whether there is an MP or not.
“For the Malava case, its constituency blue print of how the MP had planned will be followed to the latter or until a new MP comes in office,” he said.
He dismissed the speculations on lack of bursary and instead called on the parents to be a bit more patient as they embark on handling the issue.
“I know the pressure is on bursary disbursement but the Malava office is waiting for the approval of the (CDFC) members by parliament to be gazzetted as we have already forwarded the names,” he said.
He also stated that all the ongoing projects started by the late MP, most of them at 70% completion, will be completed as earlier planned.
For the new ones, they will have to wait for the approval of the 2024/25 Financial Year proposal, so that they can be planned for.
“Malava people to still support the CDF as it is there to serve them and as your new manger, I will ensure that Malava people get better services in accordance with the law and constitution of Kenya,” he assured.
