Sure Bet: Pamela Mukabana shakes KSB director elections, overshadows competitors

The race for the position of Upper Western Kenya Sugar Board (KSB) director has taken an unexpected direction after the entry of firebrand Pamela Mukabana.
Previously, it was believed to be a walk in the park for Dr Ronald Inyangala but the road now seems slippery and his chances of clinching the seat have significantly narrowed.
Pamela Mukabana is a well-known philanthropist who hails from Malava, same as Dr Inyangala, who commands immense respect from the residents due to her service to the community.
She has been a common face in matters welfare, social and economic empowerment besides leading campaigns in educating the community’s children for a better future.
Malava has two major sugar factories – Kabras and West Kenya – and needs a formidable, solid representative capable of championing the plight of the local farmers.
While Inyangala had started making inroads in the populous catchment area, the entry of Pamela Mukabana now signals an end to his dream that was about to see light.
For a long time, Pam has responded without fail whenever called upon to address the plight of farmers.
Farmers from the region have expressed confidence in her and urged her to push on promising to throw their weight behind her ambition.
The Upper Western Region comprises Kakamega county (excluding Mumias area), Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu and northern parts of Nandi County.
