Malava people are wise, Lusaka says as he eulogises Malulu

The people of Malava are wise enough and will elect a competent person to take over from where their fallen MP Moses Malulu Injendi left, Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka has said.
Lusaka was speaking on March 3, during a funeral service held in honour of the MP in Lugusi area.
According to Lusaka, the Malava MP was one of the calculating leaders who knew when to strike and when to hold back.
He said he has known the MP for a long time and had been close friends whom even his children studied at the same school.
Lusaka also noted that Malulu had kept close ties with Bungoma and had been present in many events placing himself strategically as a good neighbour who knew what to do.
He echoed sentiments of other speakers who had eulogise Malulu as a humble leader who care for the welfare of the common mwananchi and urged the Malava electorate to elect another competent leader to replace Malulu.
“The best that we can do for him is to get somebody who has equal qualities or better so that this constituency develops and I know the people of Malava are wise to make the right decision,” Lusaka said.
“Malulu was a very wise and calculating politician who knew what to do at a given time especially during elections,” Lusaka noted.
According to Lusaka, the late MP was one of those Luhya leaders with strong principles and a vision for his people.
He noted that Malulu was a passionate leader with a rare trait of being peaceful and calculating in whatever he was engaged in.
Lusaka called on political leaders to emulate the traits of the deceased MP and allow his funeral to proceed peacefully without chaos.
“This was a great a man. As leaders, let us give him a good send off,” he eulogized.
Lusaka was also flanked by leaders at all levels from his county including MCAs, County Assembly Speaker, MPs and Senator.
Malulu was serving his third consecutive term when he fell ill in December 2024 and later died on February 17, 2025 while receiving treatment at the Aga Khan University hospital in Nairobi.
