“God has harvested the best fruit”, Lusaka pays glowing tribute to Wetang’ula’s mum

Governor Kenneth Lusaka has paid a moving tribute to the late Mayi Ann Wetang’ula, eulogising her as a devoted matriarch who dedicated her life to God, family, and humanity.

Speaking during her final send-off in Mukhweya village, Kabuchai, Governor Lusaka reflected on the close ties between his family and the Wetang’ulas, recounting fond memories of her enduring influence.

“God has harvested the best fruit in His Garden. Mayi Ann lived and loved profoundly. Her legacy will live forever as the melodies of her works and deeds linger on,” Lusaka eulogised.

Delivering condolences on behalf of the Council of Governors (CoG), Governor Lusaka described the late Mayi Ann as a beacon of hope and a nurturing force, having raised exceptional leaders, including National Assembly Speaker Dr. Moses Wetang’ula and Westlands MP Hon. Tim Wanyonyi.

The solemn ceremony drew a host of dignitaries, led by President William Ruto and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who joined other leaders and mourners in paying their respects to the Wetang’ula family.

The late Mayi Ann Wetang’ula leaves behind a rich legacy of service, faith, and compassion that will forever resonate with those whose lives she touched.
