ODM is the anchor of Azimio, Governor Barasa roars, tells off critics
Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has reaffirmed the critical role of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) within the Azimio la Umoja Coalition part.
Governor Barasa has revealed that ODM is the anchor party holding the Azimio One Kenya coalition together.
Speaking at the funeral of the late Clement Chibolo, the ODM Party Chairman for Isukha East in Shinyalu today, he cautioned those advocating for ODM to exit the Azimio coalition, reminding them that such a move would effectively dismantle the alliance.
“The day ODM leaves Azimio is the day the coalition ceases to exist,” he said.
Governor Barasa also reiterated the party’s unwavering loyalty to its leader, Raila Odinga, stating: “We are not ready to leave the coalition, and we will continue to recognise Raila Odinga as our party leader.” His remarks come amid ongoing political discourse regarding the future of the Azimio coalition and ODM’s role within it.
Addressing the issue of the Deputy Party leadership position, he made it clear that he expressed full support for Vihiga County Senator Godfrey Osotsi, who has recently been appointed as Deputy Party Leader.
“I am fully behind Senator Osotsi and his new role in the party,” Barasa affirmed.
