“We are not supporting President Ruto because of empty rhetoric, but because of what he has delivered for this country and our region,” said the Bungoma Governor during a massive rally in Kakamega County on Friday, January 30. .

Lusaka noted that President Ruto inherited a struggling economy burdened by heavy debt but he has since steered the country towards economic recovery through fiscal discipline, infrastructure development, and targeted social programmes.

At the same time, he said that Mulembe leaders, both in Kenya Kwanza and those in Opposition, have agreed on supporting the reelection of the President in 2027 as they have all enjoyed the government’s goodies.

For those who are still sitting on the fence, he said he shall have a sit down with them and explain to them why they need to pull in the same direction despite their political differences.

“As the regional coordinator, I have embarked on a deliberate journey to bring on board even those with divergent political opinions so that we can speak with one voice,” he said. “We must pool our votes together to increase our bargaining power as the Mulembe people.”

The governor dismissed the opposition as divided and lacking a clear development agenda, describing it as “clueless and disoriented, with no concrete ideas for a better Kenya.”

Speaking during a boda boda empowerment funds drive held in Musembe area, Lugari Constituency, Lusaka who was accompanied by a host of pro-Ruto leaders, said the Western Kenya region will unite fully behind President Ruto’s re-election bid to guarantee him a second term.

Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula, who serves as the deputy coordinator, said the unity of the Luhya community would be anchored on development, arguing that backing President Ruto offered a more realistic pathway to regional and national progress.

Savula is a member of the Eugene Wamalwa and George Natembeya-led Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K).

“Our unity must be driven by development. Supporting President Ruto is a better bet for the Mulembe nation than aligning with a fragmented opposition,” said Savula.

Savula further proposed constitutional amendments to allocate one per cent of Value Added Tax (VAT) into a special education fund, aimed at making education accessible and affordable to all Kenyan children.

Kiminini MP Kakai Bisau praised the President for fostering national cohesion and transforming key infrastructure projects across the country, saying he deserves a second term to consolidate the gains.

“President Ruto has united the nation and significantly improved infrastructure. He deserves another chance to complete what he has started,” said Bisau.

The event was also attended by Teso South MP Mary Emase, Trans Nzoia Woman Representative Sioyi Lilian, Vihiga Woman Representative Beatrice Adagala, and Lugari parliamentary aspirant Philip Etale, among other leaders, who echoed the call for unity and massive voter turnout in support of President Ruto.

The leaders vowed to intensify grassroots mobilization across Western Kenya to ensure overwhelming support for the President in the next general election.
