Airtel Money, DTB partner to power SME growth via seamless payments

Airtel Money customers can now make payments directly to Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) Till Moja merchants, following a strategic partnership aimed at empowering Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) with more flexible and convenient ways to receive payments.

In addition, the partnership now allows customers to deposit money directly from their Airtel Money wallets into their DTB accounts.

The move makes it easier for customers to send money, pay bills, and manage their finances instantly and securely from their mobile phones without having to visit a bank branch or payment outlet.

Customers will also enjoy a 50 percent guaranteed cashback as airtime on all Paybill payments, further enhancing the value and affordability of everyday transactions.

“At Airtel Money, we are committed to facilitating seamless flow of money across Kenya’s financial ecosystem. While customers have previously been able to send funds to DTB accounts, this new feature now extends that convenience to DTB Till Moja merchants, creating even more value for our customers and for small businesses,” said Airtel Money Kenya Managing Director, Anne Kinuthia-Otieno.

“By removing barriers to financial inclusion and making it easier for everyone to access financial services, we are making transactions faster, simpler, and safer. This enhances convenience and supports the growth of a more inclusive digital economy where every customer and small business owner can transact seamlessly, affordably, and securely,” she said.

The partnership further strengthens this vision by providing customers with flexible and affordable ways to save and transact.

It addresses longstanding barriers to financial access, particularly for customers in rural and underserved areas who rely on mobile money for daily transactions, lowering costs and making financial services more convenient and inclusive for all.

“At DTB, our priority is to provide customers with multiple payment options that fit their everyday needs. This partnership with Airtel Money is a step forward in removing barriers to accessing banking services, especially for SMEs and individuals who rely on mobile money for convenience. By expanding the ways our customers can pay, save, and transact, we are making banking more inclusive, flexible, and accessible for everyone,” said George Otiende, Director, Retail Banking at DTB.

Customers can deposit into any DTB account or pay DTB Till Moja merchants via the Airtel Money App or by dialling *334#.
