Stage set for UDA to win Malava MP seat

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is poised to retain the Malava MP’s seat in a by-election scheduled for November.

The UDA party is enjoying a good run following a seemingly disorganised Opposition in the hotly contested race.

Alss, President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet has put up a spirited campaign in the area with lots of developmental activities taking place in the area while at the same asking electorates to make an informed decision by voting in an individual aligned with the government for continuity of what the late had started.

While the United Democratic Alliance party is yet to get its flag bearer, the two leading opposition namely Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) and The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) have Kenya National Union of Nurses Secretary General Seth Panyako and Advocate Edgar Busiega as their candidates, respectively.

The two are independently crisscrossing the constituency in search of support and this is seen as the most undoing that will hand them a defeat on the ballot.

Meanwhile, the UDA party has four candidates jostling to get the ticket and ard holding joined rallies calling on supporters to remain intact even after nominations slated for September 20th, 2025.

The four, ex principal Simon Kangwana, Rhyan Injendi who is the son of the late MP, lawyer Leonard Shimaka and West Kabras MCA David Ndakwa have taken an oath to support whoever will emerge victorious after nominations.

The party is yet to agree on the mode of selection even as the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi says the candidates have an option of agreeing amongst themselves and picking one of them to carry the flag.

But it is now becoming evident that whoever will get the ticket will be a force to reckon and can bag early victory.
