National football player Patrick Matasi is facing serious match fixing allegations after a secretly recorded video at undisclosed place was leaked.
Matasi is seen in the video allegedly discussing with an unknown person while at the backseat of a car how to manipulate the outcome of a Kenya Premier league match.
Matasi is regarded as one of Kenya’s top goal keepers having played for Tusker FC, Posta Rangers FC, and the mighty AFC Leopards.
But his performances have at times sparked serious debate among teammates and fans who question some of his antics in crucial matches.
Some of his fans have expressed frustrations on inexplicable errors that have cost the national team Harambee Stars and other cubs he has played for valuable points with some of his mistakes appearing uncharacteristic for a goalkeeper of his calibre.
The undated video has ignited a review of past concerns on his performances, and suspicion is ripe that some of his costly mistakes may have been intentional.
