Wajackoyah’s Roots Party fronts Caleb Sunguti for Malava MP

The Roots Party of Kenya has confirmed Caleb Sunguti as its preferred choice for the Malava parliamentary race in a by-election that is set to announced.
Sunguti will be the first Roots Party parliamentary candidate as revealed by party leader George Wajackoyah in a statement seen by Mulembe News.

“Roots Party of Kenya settles on Caleb Sunguti for Malava by election. The first Roots Party Parliamentary candidate. Vetted & verified by chapter 6,” said Party Leader George Wajackoyah in a statement.
Sunguti, a B.Ed, MBA (Project Planning & Management), and a graduate of Kenyatta KCA and University of Nairobi hails from South Kabras Ward in the Constituency.
He has worked as a Business and Finance lecturer at Kitale National Polytechnic, then KCA University, Manager Telkom K Ltd, senior Lecturer Kenya School of Government- Lower Kabete Campus for 13 years in Governance, leadership and management of public affairs.
He boasts of over 25 years in public affairs.
Sunguti joined active politics in 2007 when he wanted to unseat the late Housing minister Soita Shitanda, and in 2022, he joined the Democratic Action party of Kenya as their candidate losing it to Malulu Injendi, who died earlier this year.
Reacting on his nomination, Sunguti said the journey to Parliament had started and urged the residents to walk support his bid.
“Safari ya bunge imeanza. Khuchendele halala (journey to Parliament has started. Lets walk together),” he said.
He now joins a crowded field of over 20 candidates that have shown interest in replacing the late MP among them, his son Rhyan Injendi.
Others are lawyers and Advocates of the High Court Edgar Busiega and Leonard Shimaka, Bungoma High School Principal Enock Andanje, and Commissioner of Police Nelson Shilunji.
