Respect ‘Mulembe’ leaders, Ichungwah warned

Leaders from the vast Mulembe nation have slammed the Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah over his ‘unnecessary’ attack on Trans Nzioa Governor George Natembeya.

The latest one to add voice to the raging debate is Kakamega County nominated MCA Victoria Zillah.

Zillah who is DAP-Kenya National Youth Leader, has cautioned Ichung’wah over his juvenile attacks on Natembeya during the burial of Mama Anna Nanyama Wetang’ula, mother of Speaker Moses Wetangula, in Kabuchai that was attended by President William Ruto among other dignitaries.

Zillah rubbished the verbal attacks on governor Natembeya and asked Ichungw’a to respect Western leaders.

“How can somebody just come all the way from Central to Western to abuse our leaders and we are sitting silent? This is disrespect of the highest order and as DAP-Kenya we will not tolerate that. Natembeya was right and there was reason for Ichung’wah to dress him down that way,” she said.

The youth leader confirmed that indeed they were concerned with the ongoing abductions and Natembeya was only questioning the government to know exactly what was happening.

“We are not going to sit and keep mum as our fellow youths keep on disappearing and being found dead mysteriously and when leaders like George Natembeya brings the issue up, he is attacked by the William Ruto administration sympathizers. We need answers to these mysteries and we will not relent until justice for the youths is done,” she stated.

She defended Natembeya’s statement that criticized leaders who were using funerals and churches to ask for development projects when they have enough time in parliament to do so.

“It is true that when you’re in the National Assembly, you totally forget the aspirations of your electorate and you only tend to shed crocodile tears by asking for development in such forums, its not only unprofessional but primitive too,” said Zillah.

She called on Ichung’wah to concentrate on the central Kenya issues and leave the Mulembe leaders alone as they are able to plan and decide for themselves.

“Leaders should be accountable for their actions and development to the people should be given first priority and since the shooting down of the Finance Bill by the Gen Z through demonstrations, it has been the root cause of the young people’s problems, we will continue to demand the government to release all, those young people abducted,” she added.
