Machemo FC beat Shitirira FC to win Geoffrey Sikolia Cup
Machemo FC are the champions of Chimuche ward member of county assembly in malava subcounty of Kakamega Geoffrey Sikolia cup in a match that ended in penalties after a 1-1 draw in the initial 90 minutes against Shitirira FC.
The finals of the cup were played at Kimang’eti primary school grounds where a host of leaders among them Lawyer Edgar Busiega,county leader of minority David Ndakwa and Shamberere National Polytechnic Principal Elisha Nyamu.
Others who braved the heavy rains to watch the games were Manda/Shivanga mca David Kivishi, East Kabras Kefa Musiya,Mugai/Shirugu Peter Wanami and nominated mcas Truphena Asembo, and Darphine Masinza
Sikolia urged the youth to invest much of their time in economic improvement activities and education, while Asembo encouraged them to join the political world and seek elective positions in the coming election, saying they must be seen.
Masinza, on her part, noted the need to nurture talents while adding that they are high paying .
Busiega, who gave Ksh.20,000 in support of the games, made his mind clear to the people on his intentions to unseat Malava member of Parliament Malulu Injendi, who is serving his third term saying the youth have have been sidelined in many life changing activities by those in power and that his leadership will be all inclusive.
He hailed the organisers of the tournament, which he said had kept the youth busy and was an easy fight against spread HIV/AIDs and stress related ailments .
