Gloves off as Malava MP tells off Governor Barasa
Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has stepped into unknown waters after his apparent invasion of Malava Constituency elicited sharp reaction from area Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Malulu Injendi.
The MP’s reaction came after Governor Barasa’s surrogates launched a scathing attack against the veteran Malava politician whom they accused of being non-development oriented.
They took turns to accuse the MP of neglecting sections of the Constituency singling out Chebwai TTI and some major roads.
However, the legislator eyeing another stab at the Parliamentary seat hit back swiftly warning the Governor not to poke his nose in the affairs of the constituency.
MP Injendi took time to educate the handlers on the roles and functions of a Member of Parliament and some of the affairs under his docket and those that are not.
“Let this message reach Barasa well, as I wasn’t amused when he visited my constituency the other weekend only to have me on the receiving end as a failure to perform and yet the projects do not squarely belong to me,” the MP roared.
He rubbished claims of his failure to salvage the teaching college from threats of closure due to low financial support from the CDF noting that it was only through application for the bursaries that the school could get funds.
He called on the governors’ team accompanying him on such trips to be developmental vigilant on which projects fall under County and National governments to avoid this kind of unnecessary and uninformed blame games aimed at tainting some of his good developmental track record.
“The people of Malava know that I support all developments within and we don’t need anyone from outside to come and lecture us on what should be done where and how, we have our own programmes and their time frames of being implemented,” he noted.
