Malava youths blast Malala, tell him he’s not welcome
Politicians seeking votes in Malava Sub County through the backdoor have been warned to keep off as they have no blessings from the electorate.
Speaking at a Malava hotel, a section of the area youths, while addressing the Media, warned that it was time the sub county started sieving and curtailing randy politicians who have been traversing the region in a vote searching mission and only disappear after they are elected and only resurfaces when they want to be re-elected.
Led by the former Shirugu-Mugai MCA aspirants Sakaya Shitsimi, Jasusi Musa, Neto Musa and Boniface Lukamasia of the Sauti ya Malava group, they cautioned politicians who have had the tendency of coming to Malava to desist and instead bring development to the people.
They criticized the recent visit by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malala who was hosted by the Butali Chegulo MCA Kevin Mahelo, leader of minority David Ndakwa (West Kabras) and Chekalini MCA Titus Kwoma (Minority chief whip) as non-consequential as the leaders did not have the right to speak on behalf of the Malava People on matters leadership and instead were out to satisfy their personal interests.
They blasted Malala for what they termed ‘selfishness’ after being appointed as the cabinet secretary without portfolio and as the secretary general UDA as he has failed to safeguard the interest of the Malava people who overwhelmingly voted for him when he ran for the gubernatorial position in the last elections.
They warned that the Malava voters will not be sold by a few politicians to their advantage and added that this time round the young people were the ones to determine the future of the Malava residents after both Wycliffe Oparanya and now Fernandez Barasa administration failing to deliver to them despite having massive support from them during their election respectively.
Shitsimi Sakaya observed that the North Kakamega had the numbers to produce the next governor only if they join hands and decide to do so considering that they have been neglected by the leaders over the years.
On his side Jasusi Musa called on the young people to unite and make the necessary changes not only in the country but at Malava as well as the future heavily depend on their today’s decisions.
Neto, who also took a stab at the Shirugu-Mugai seat, read out the Malava resolutions stating that no politician should come to the sub county seeking political mileage this time unless he has brought development matters to the residents first.
They also cautioned the leaders from colluding with other political leaders from outside to sell out their voters, and promised that in two weeks’ time they will chat forward the true position of the sub county in what will forever determine and change the political future of the Malava people.
