All eyes on Anami over running mate choice to unseat Governor Barasa

Political temperatures in Kakamega County are rising as gubernatorial hopeful Professor Sylvester Elikana Anami is said to be planning to name his preferred deputy ahead of2027 contest.

According to sources close to the academician-turned politician, he has been presented with tens of names of influential people from across Kakamega county for consideration.

The sources say Anami has been busy, together with his inner circle, vetting the names and that he is now ready to reveal his running mate.

Anami has associated himself with the newly launched People’s Renaissance Movement Party (PM Party).

The running mate will be key in helping Anami shape the current political wave as he navigates through the interests of women, youths, special groups among others.

Also, the deputy will be instrumental in aligning with scholars, business community, leading strategies for development and coming up with strategic economic improvement plan for the second largest county.
